Clinical Experience
Throughout his 35+ years of practice, Dr Hafez has developed extensive clinical experience in managing a wide range of psychiatric disorders including, but not limited to:
Bipolar Affective Disorder
Bipolar disorder causes serious shifts in mood, thinking, and behavior—from the highs of mania on one extreme, to the lows of depression on the other.
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
The key features of OCD are obsessions and compulsions. Most people have both but for some it may seem as though they have only one or the other.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Unlike normal worries, anxiety related to GAD is not triggered by a specific event. GAD interferes with relationships, work, recreation and school.
Major Depressive Disorder
Most people go through periods of feeling down, but when you’re depressed you feel persistently sad for weeks or months, rather than just a few days.
ADHD
ADHD is a behavior disorder, usually first diagnosed in childhood, that is characterized by inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity.
Personality Disorders
Personality disorders are mental health conditions that significantly affect how people think, feel, and behave.
Panic Disorder
People with panic disorder often live in fear of having more attacks, which can lead to significant changes in their behavior and lifestyle.
Social Anxiety Disorder
People with social anxiety disorder worry that others are judging or criticizing them for how they look, what they say, or how they act.
Dr. Hafez believes in the multidisciplinary team approach with a clear care plan where the combined expertise of a range of mental health professionals is used to deliver seamless, comprehensive care. He believes this approach is the most effective mean of delivering comprehensive mental health services to people with mental health problems.
